Responsibilities
This Electronic Warfare Technician will perform equipment and system level maintenance on AN/SLQ-32 variants and the Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program (SEWIP) systems, preferably SEWIP (V) 6 or 7, with opportunities to learn about and get qualified on the wide range of current and future integrated ship defense systems.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Three (3) years demonstrated experience performing fault isolation and casualty restoration, and preventive maintenance on EW systems and equipment, preferably SEWIP (V) 6 or 7.
- PQS 301 qualification. If selected candidate is not PQS 301 qualified on or before hire date, he/she should be willing and able to obtain PQS 301 qualification within three (3) months of employment.
- DoD Secret level security clearance. The criteria for obtaining and holding a clearance are established by the U.S. government, to include being a U.S. citizen.
Qualifications
- Preferred but not required: Certified Fiber Optic Installer, Security+ Certification, Experience with Network devices and an understanding of Operating Systems, preferably RedHat or UNIX
- Preference will be given to candidates who reside in, or will move into, a Small Business Administration (SBA) designated Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) area, of which Wallops Island VA is one.
