About the role

For 60 years, customers have relied on L3Harris capabilities in Electronic Warfare (EW), Electronic Support Measures (ESM) and Electronic Intelligence (ELINT) to dominate the electromagnetic spectrum. We deliver high-performing EW, ESM and ELINT systems that meet or exceed the performance, cost, and schedule needs of our military customers. We are seeking Systems Engineers to design, develop, integrate, and test innovative electronic system solutions, as well as support ongoing operations.

Responsibilities

• Work independently or with general supervision
• Strive for improvement and continuous development, increasing knowledge base and seeking growth opportunities
• Recommend process or practice improvements within the Systems Engineering Organization
• Communicate within Systems Engineering and across other engineering disciplines
• Manage requirements using tools such as IBM Rational DOORS and/or JAMA
• Support or lead integration and test of electronic systems and related hardware/software/firmware subsystems/sub-components/products
• Support or lead data analysis, modeling, and simulation to identify root causes of issues or guide design
• Present work to multi-disciplinary teams and internal/external customers
• Obtain higher-level clearances as necessary
• Potential travel required depending on program assignments (~10%)

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience, or
• Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience, or
• In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience
• Active security clearance (minimum Secret Level)

Skills

• Hands-on experience with commercial RF/EE test equipment (e.g., signal generator, spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, network analyzer, attenuators, amplifiers)
• Experience generating and flowing down requirements at various system levels
• Ability to interpret and evaluate customer requirements and break them down for lower-level assemblies
• Data analysis and/or modeling and simulation (e.g., MATLAB, Python)
• Experience with Hardware Environmental and EMI Qualification testing
• Knowledge of signal processing, logic design, and computer architecture
• Experience with aerospace/defense electronic systems (e.g., electronic warfare systems, radar, missile guidance, missile defense)
• System design of embedded system architectures
• Familiarity with Digital Engineering, SysML/Model Based System Engineering (MBSE), and system simulation
• Understanding of Cyber Security best practices
• Organized and detail-oriented

Pay

The salary range for this role is $106,500–$197,500 in California, Seattle, Washington D.C., Maryland (Greater Washington D.C. area), Denver, Washington State, New Jersey, and New York City. Final offer may vary based on experience and geographic location.

Schedule

9/80 schedule: employees work 9 out of 14 days (totaling 80 hours) and have every other Friday off.
