What You Will Accomplish
The Electronics Test Technician Co-Op supports both engineering and production activities by assisting with electronic product testing, troubleshooting, documentation, and validation activities. This role provides hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment while supporting product quality, reliability, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Aid with testing, troubleshooting, and validation of electronic products and systems.
- Support engineering and production teams with product performance evaluations and testing activities.
- Collect, record, and analyze test data while maintaining accurate documentation.
- Aid in developing and updating work instructions, test procedures, and manufacturing documentation.
- Support calibration and maintenance of test equipment and instrumentation.
- Perform production testing and verification activities according to established procedures.
- Troubleshoot basic electronic assemblies and components under the guidance of engineering staff.
- Aid with product safety, quality, and regulatory testing activities.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, and manufacturing processes.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and professional work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Interest in electronics, engineering, manufacturing, or technology.
- Basic understanding of electronic components, circuits, and troubleshooting concepts.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to follow written procedures and technical instructions.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
Education and Experience
- Currently pursuing an Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Previous coursework, projects, internships, or hands-on experience involving electronics, testing, or troubleshooting is preferred but not required.
Language Skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, work instructions, and procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts including fractions, percentages, ratios, and measurements.
- Ability to record and interpret test results accurately.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to solve practical problems and follow technical instructions in written, verbal, or diagram form.
- Ability to learn new concepts and apply them in a manufacturing environment.
Computer Skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Familiarity with engineering software, testing equipment, or data collection systems is a plus.
