Responsibilities
- Set up and operate specialized and commercial test equipment, computers and related equipment to perform manual and automated performance and environmental tests on space-qualified power control units
- Troubleshoot hardware and equipment to the component level by carrying out activities ranging from minor unit manipulations through complete tear-downs, selecting resistors for installation, and conducting wire and component checks
- Support test anomaly investigations when necessary
- Perform test data management activities including data collection, evaluation, and documentation
- Assist engineering staff members in the design, procurement, build, and check-out of test equipment, testing and evaluation of software, and review of test procedures
Qualifications
- You will need at least three years of electronics test experience, preferably with high-voltage power supplies, along with an associate's degree in electronics or a related field, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Working experience using digital oscilloscopes, digital meters, current amplifiers and probes, differential probes, thermal chambers, and other common test equipment
- Must be able to work from schematics, drawings, engineering specifications, data sheets, wiring diagrams, and verbal and written instructions
- Thorough knowledge of safety practices utilized when working with high voltage
- Effective communication skills are necessary to provide status and reports regarding troubleshooting findings on failed units and general unit status
- The ability to lift items weighing over 50 lbs. and assist in the movement of test bays is necessary
