Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • PCB soldering and assembly per electrical drawings and instructions.
  • Wire harness assembly per electrical drawings and instructions.
  • Chassis wiring and assembly per electrical drawings and instructions.
  • Aid Electrical Engineers with prototyping, troubleshooting, and testing of electronic sub-assemblies.
  • Responsible for organization, cleanliness and maintenance of electronics lab space and electrical work cell floor space areas.
  • Responsible for organizing and supporting the maintenance of the electronic test equipment.
  • Responsible for supporting the organization, maintenance, and cleanliness of the shop area floor space.

Required Skills and Attributes

  • Strict adherence to process, careful attention to detail, and accountability for the quality and timeliness of work
  • Knowledge of basic electronic principles
  • Expert soldering skills of surface mount components down to sizes of MSOP ICs (0.5mm pitch) and 0402 passive components (capacitors/resistors)
  • Reading schematics and board layout files, signal tracing, and implementation of non-fragile prototype modifications and signal break-out
  • Basic computer skills for email communication, timecard entry and basic internet research as required
  • Good hand/eye coordination is necessary to perform the job safely
  • Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds

Preferred Skills and Attributes

  • IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 certifications are a plus
  • Experience using an oscilloscope, waveform generator, hi-pot tester, handheld meters, power supplies, and other basic lab equipment
