Essential Job Responsibilities/Expectations

Job responsibilities include those listed in the competencies document.

Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.

Maintains building components such as, but not limited to: televisions, beds, fire alarms, overhead paging, Nurse call, pneumatic tube system, automatic door openers and electronic card entry systems.

Must be able to work independently and be capable of managing contractors, vendors and projects.

Performs a wide variety of skilled tasks including installation, repairs, troubleshooting, and planning of televisions, beds, fire alarms, overhead paging, Nurse call, pneumatic tube system, automatic door openers and electronic card entry systems.

Aids the other department personnel in maintaining electronic components.

Performs Preventive Maintenance Measures.

Maintains inventory of repair equipment and supplies.

Logs daily readings of equipment and systems as assigned.

Reviews Work Orders daily and completes associated tasks/repairs by Type/Priority.

Reviews Work Orders daily and completes associated tasks/repairs by Type/Priority and documents the “as found” condition, troubleshooting/repair details, lists any testing equipment (w/calibration dates), test results data, photos, verbal/written documentation of communication with Requestor and final “as corrected” condition.

Documents root causes for all equipment failures.

Maintains detailed and accurate records of system repairs, temperature, humidity and air flow as required by authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ) and medical center policy.

Performs other maintenance duties as requested.

Responds quickly in the event of an emergency, notifies appropriate personnel, and follows safety protocols.

Must be a quick thinker and able to display positive emotional behavior, as well as apply positive social skills with co-workers, vendors, customers, and patients.

Qualifications/Education/Training

Associate Degree/Apprenticeship Program* and minimum of 15 years of electrical/electronic maintenance experience.

In lieu of an Associate Degree/Apprenticeship Program, 20 years of electrical/electronic maintenance experience will be accepted.

Must be able to demonstrate general personal computer data entry proficiency and basic control diagnostic procedures.

Completed or enrolled and Completed within 1 year Licenses and/or Certifications*

If the operation of a McLeod owned or leased vehicle is required; must possess a valid driver’s license and have acceptable driving record.

Certifications: Master Certified Electronics Technician (CETma)*
