DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES

Will be trained to operate and maintain radar equipment such as: MPS-25, FPQ-10, FPS-16 AN/SPS-67, SPS-48E SSR/Furuno, ROSA 1, ROSA 2, COSIP and all other assigned equipment/systems.

Perform periodic inspections and maintenance tasks in accordance with published procedures and/or O&M guidelines. Document results of all maintenance actions in systems and equipment records.

With assistance and guidance, troubleshoot and repair systems/equipment by reading and interpreting electronic/mechanical schematics and using simple and complex test equipment.

Aid in preparation of system reports, preventative maintenance logs and other logs or reports as they pertain to the daily operations of radar systems.

Aid in installations, check, calibrations, and perform acceptance tests on new and relocated systems and equipment.

Set up, check out, operate, and monitor systems and equipment in support of Range Operations.

Responds to changing operational requirements when directed.

Aid in preparing and developing new procedures, procedural changes and modification proposals.

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION

High School or equivalent

Two (2) Year Technical School or equivalent training such as Navy “A” school or recognized correspondence is required.

Two (2) years of technical experience can be substituted for each year of required education.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Four (4) years of progressive experience in a related field or an AS degree in electronics.

Previous radar experience is desired but not required.

Possess and demonstrate knowledge of electronics theory.

Able to use, apply and understand test and measuring equipment.

Must possess the following PC skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, and MSDOS Windows.

COMPENSATION DETAILS

$44.77 per hr

ENVIRONMENT

This position may require extended at-sea deployment

This position is primarily located at Makaha Ridge/Kokee Park instrumentation sites.

Customer contact, extended workdays, an office laboratory as well as field assignments sometimes during inclement weather.

Electronics shop environment at various operating locations throughout PMRF.

Office conditions are varied and includes physical tasks including lifting, pushing or pulling over 50 pounds (two-men assist).

Physical positions will include but not be limited to walking, sitting or standing for extended periods of time, crawling, kneeling, stooping or cramped working places and work requiring repeated or frequent climbing.

Environment will include customer contact, extended workdays, an office laboratory environment with field assignments, sometimes in inclement weather.

REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE

Must be a U.S. Citizen

Secret security clearance is required. (Applicants selected either must currently possess a Secret clearance or will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements to obtain clearance prior to commencement of employment and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information or Closed/Restricted Areas throughout duration of employment.)
