Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and test CCTV/IP camera systems, NVRs/VMS platforms, and networked security devices
- Install and service access control systems (card readers, door hardware, controllers, biometrics)
- Diagnose and repair intrusion alarm systems, sensors, panels, and communication modules
- Perform preventive maintenance, system inspections, and firmware/software updates
- Run, terminate, and label low-voltage cabling (Cat5/6, coax, fiber)
- Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics
- Provide on-site and remote technical support to customers and internal teams
- Document service activities, parts used, and system configurations
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and local regulations
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and vendors to resolve complex issues
Requirements
- Experience with electronic security systems (video, access, intrusion)
- Strong understanding of IP networking, switches, PoE, and basic routing
- Able to use diagnostic tools (multimeter, cable tester, laptop-based utilities)
- Knowledge of low-voltage wiring standards and installation best practices
- Strong problem-solving and customer-service skills
- Able to work independently in the field
- Valid driver’s license; ability to lift equipment and work on ladders
Preferred Certifications
- CompTIA Network+
- BICSI Technician / Installer
- Lenel, Genetec, Avigilon, Milestone, Honeywell, Bosch, or Axis manufacturer certifications
- NICET Level I-II (Fire or Security Systems)
