Electronic Security Project Manager
About the role
We are seeking a Security Project Manager to lead a team of Security technicians and subcontractors installing access control, intrusion detection, CCTV, intercom, and other low-voltage systems for clients in Northern Virginia. The Project Manager will coordinate and oversee multiple projects simultaneously, collaborating with local engineering, sales, and technical staff. The ideal candidate will take ownership of assigned projects, ensuring robust communication with customers and the team to meet all stakeholder expectations.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations of multiple projects, reporting job status, schedule updates, risk mitigation, changes, and material needs throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead a team of Senior/Lead Technicians, Junior Technicians, and subcontractors.
- Read and understand security system drawings, as well as electrical and civil drawing packages.
- Manage integration engineers programming electronic security systems, including access control, intrusion detection, and CCTV systems.
- Maintain project equipment inventory, red-line drawings, and quality control.
- Assist with creating proposals as needed.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with electronic security systems (required).
- Project management experience in an electronic security system environment.
- Ability to lead and mentor a team.
- Experience overseeing subcontractors and ensuring work meets i2G systems and stakeholder expectations.
- Strong communication skills with both internal teams and external customers/subcontractors.
- Working knowledge of Lenel, Verint, Axis, Commend, Fire systems, and/or DMP (a plus).
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), scheduling software (MS Project, SimPro, or Smartsheets), and Microsoft Windows.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to pass a background check.
Qualifications
- Direct experience with Lenel, Axis, Software House, or Verint training certifications (highly desired but not required).
- Training and certifications in the above product lines or PMP certification (preferred).
