About the role
The Ohio Department of Public Safety – Emergency Management Agency offers a dynamic environment where you can contribute to emergency management and public safety efforts. This role involves ensuring that lab equipment is operational and up-to-date on calibration, performing repairs to various types of radiation detection equipment, and serving as a lead worker.
Responsibilities
- Ensures internal & OP-06 listed lab equipment is operational & up-to-date on calibration;
- Performs weekly gamma range check;
- Performs basic & complex repairs to analog &/or digital electronic radiation detection equipment;
- Serves as backup to the quality manager in their absence;
- Serves as lead worker by providing work direction to lower-level radiological instrument technicians performing repairs & calibrations;

Qualifications
- Option 1: 36 months of experience in electronics which included at least 12 months of experience in using radiation detection instruments, practicing radiation safety & in training of others in radiation safety & procedures/techniques for testing, calibration, repair & maintenance of radiological detection & monitoring instruments;
- Option 1: 12 months of training or 12 months of experience in inventory control;
- Option 1: 9 months of training or 9 months of experience in public relations;
- Valid driver's license.
