Electronic Health Records (EHR) Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electronic Health Records (EHR) Specialist to support and optimize our EHR systems within a clinical environment. This individual will play a key role in maintaining data integrity, supporting staff, and ensuring compliance across our healthcare operations.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the organization’s Electronic Health Records (EHR) system
• Provide day-to-day support to clinical and administrative staff on EHR functionality and workflows
• Ensure accuracy, integrity, and security of patient data in compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies
• Assist with EHR system updates, upgrades, and optimization initiatives
• Train new staff and provide ongoing education on EHR best practices
• Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate with vendors or IT teams as needed
• Run reports and support data extraction for clinical, operational, and compliance needs
• Collaborate with leadership to improve workflows and enhance patient care delivery

Qualifications

• Required: 2+ years of Electronic Health Records (EHR) experience in a hospital, clinic, or nonprofit healthcare setting
• Strong understanding of healthcare workflows and medical terminology
• Experience with EHR platforms (e.g., Epic, Cerner, eClinicalWorks, NextGen, etc.)
• Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and patient data privacy standards
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to train and support end-users with varying levels of technical proficiency
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
