Electronic Equipment Upfitter - Vehicle Maintenance

Responsibilities

  • Diagnoses and repairs electrical equipment such as radios, sirens, light bars, radar, etc.
  • Designs, fabricates and installs equipment for vehicles.
  • Serves county vehicles when needed and performs preventative maintenance.
  • Maintains a record of work performed on equipment and vehicles; prepares reports for department.
  • Installs new and used parts and accessories.
  • Captures equipment orders with department liaison to ensure timely project completion.
  • Orders parts and supplies as needed for projects.
  • Aids other employees with their duties.
  • Strips retired county vehicles of all equipment and decals.
  • Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Two years technical school and/or specialized training in electronics is preferred.
  • Two years job related experience.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive diagnosis and repair.
