Amalgamated Bank is seeking an Electronic Banking Administrator to oversee day-to-day operations involving card transaction risk monitoring, dispute research and processing, and settlement and reconciliation of all cardholder activity. This role stays current with product upgrades, identifies risk and exposure, develops control procedures, and serves as a liaison between the Electronic Banking department, vendors, and other pertinent Bank departments.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor card risk management systems and reports to identify high-risk transactions.
  • Review and investigate all transactions flagged as high risk.
  • Contact customers via phone, mail, or email to validate questionable transactions and take appropriate action based on Bank procedures.
  • Maintain records of all communications, update alert status in Risk Management systems, and report performance or systemic issues to management and vendors.
  • Track issue resolution and analyze risk management system rules/alerts to recommend changes for improved efficiency.
  • Research, process, and track all card-related claims, adjustments, inquiries, and notifications, following Bank procedures for provisional credits/debits and final resolution.
  • Enforce compliance with Regulation E and monitor network timeframes for deadline adherence.
  • Reconcile and adjust activity related to POS rejects, income, chargeback DDA accounts, general ledger, and ATM unposted items.
  • Perform settlement and reconciliation between networks, vendors, and the bank, including daily prepaid card settlement.
  • Download and review various monthly reports, control and maintain activity records, and enforce departmental controls, auditing, and security policies.
  • Monitor and respond to internet banking inquiries via dedicated email and telephone lines during business hours.
  • Use daily reports to ensure operational and risk compliance with Bank policies and procedures.
  • Communicate with customers and branch personnel to resolve problems and follow up on outstanding issues.
  • Maintain logs and cross-train in all existing and future Electronic Banking Department (EBD) functions.
  • Serve as backup for all EBD functions as needed.
  • Perform related clerical duties as directed by management.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • General knowledge of accounting.
  • Minimum 2 years of related banking reconcilement experience.
  • Good mathematics and investigative skills.
  • Knowledge of compliance laws and branch operations.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of Bank-wide operations.

Pay

The starting hourly salary for this role is between $22.40 – $26.00. Actual pay is dependent on factors such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Schedule

Hybrid Work Model: Effective February 18, 2025, employees in office-based positions will work a hybrid schedule consisting of three or more on-site days per week (Monday–Thursday), with Friday designated as a remote-working day unless business-critical tasks require an on-site presence. Daily in-person attendance is required for contact center, branch service roles, and other positions where work must be performed on-site.
