About the role

Join the Cape Girardeau Spartech Team as an Electromechanical Technician and support machine maintenance for a variety of customers. This position offers growth in a fast-paced environment with a strong focus on safety and success.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical and mechanical systems, wiring, fixtures, and power equipment.
  • Use testing devices and diagnostic tools to identify and locate faults in electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections and perform preventative maintenance on electrical and mechanical systems while adhering to safety standards and codes.
  • Replace defective electrical components such as wiring, switches, and fuses.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals, and follow electrical codes and regulations.
  • Utilize CMMS system for work orders, parts management, and documenting PM work and findings.
  • Operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and machinery.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a certified technical training program or apprenticeship in electrical maintenance.
  • Valid electrician certification or license.
  • Minimum 5 years of electrical technician experience in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems from 24VDC to 480VAC, including motors, PLCs, and power distribution.
  • Proficient with electrical testing devices, hand tools, and power tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve electrical issues.
  • Thorough understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other safety protocols.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English with supervisors and colleagues.
  • Ability to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work a shift schedule as assigned.
  • Ability to pass a Spartech-administered Electrical Technician test to demonstrate required competence.
