About the role

The primary functions of this job require accountability for manufacturing procedures and associated documentation and processes. This includes testing, assembling, troubleshooting electronic and mechanical subassemblies, and electromechanical medical devices in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements and written procedures.

Responsibilities

• Takes ownership over all aspects of processes and procedures including training, safety, quality, and efficiencies.
• Applies technique and quality criteria for use of specialized tools and test equipment.
• Assembles, tests, troubleshoots, calibrates, and packages highly complex mechanical and electronic sub-assemblies.
• Adheres to GMP compliance on the manufacturing floor.
• Identifies potential issues that may impact production schedules and contributes to formulating responses to maintain those schedules.
• Detects non-conforming product and dispositions according to company procedure.
• Executes and maintains monthly production schedule.
• Works with and assists engineers, leadership, buyers, planners, material handlers, and technicians in problem-solving of quality, safety, production process, and raw material issues, including prototyping, specialty builds, validations, and implementing new materials, designs, maintenance, and process improvements.
• Performs area clearance and setup of workstations.
• Performs documentation and regulatory record-keeping as defined in standard operating procedures for manufacturing, including device history records, work order generation, and product labels.
• Provides and receives constructive work direction and feedback without shutting down communication among team members.
• Performs quality control checks on finished products and documentation prior to release, including processing and packaging returned goods from customers/vendors and finished goods inventory.
• Ensures efficiency of material loading and unloading for workstations.
• Conducts thorough practices with inspecting, packaging, and labeling of product.
• Contributes to resolution and sorting of nonconforming products and processes.
• Works overtime to meet business needs as required.
• Demonstrates high proficiency with the use of required hand-tools and test equipment.
• Applies technique and quality criteria for soldering as well as use of specialized tools and test equipment.
• Interfaces frequently with computers and understands navigational functions.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; technical background preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a relevant role, with demonstrated knowledge and maintained competency in all areas required at the assembler level.
• Knowledge and understanding of safety protocols for operating automated and semi-automated equipment.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) with whole numbers, decimals, and fractions; reason through mathematical word problems; and read tables, scales, graphs, and charts quickly and accurately.
• Strong command of the English language, including business and regulatory terminology; ability to read, comprehend, and generate technical reports, documents, and procedures.
• Advanced understanding of manufacturing operating procedures for technical, automated, and semi-automated systems, including assembling, testing, and packaging of mechanical and electronic subassemblies and electromechanical medical devices.
• Understanding of mechanical principles and analysis of mechanical movement.
• Attention to detail for spotting imperfections or flaws; ability to visualize how separate pieces work as a whole.
• Strong team cooperation and ability to prioritize workload to meet schedule requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to make decisions based on changes and multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with relevant PC software applications.
• Demonstrated ability to assemble, test, calibrate, and troubleshoot mechanical and electronic subassemblies and electromechanical medical devices using safe handling and assembly techniques.
• Ability to learn and increase competency in specialty tools such as digital volt meters (DVM), torque wrenches, etc.

Physical Requirements

• Manufacturing environment requirements include use of personal protective equipment, reading, speaking, hearing, walking, bending, standing, stretching/reaching, and hand/finger dexterity.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and transport up to 500 pounds via carts, racks, or mechanized equipment; up to 1,500 pounds by pallet jack; and up to 5,000 pounds by electric pallet jack.
• Good manual dexterity and visual acuity, including ability to distinguish colors.
• Ability to maintain pace with the assigned area and perform repetitive motions regularly.
• Ability to work under fluorescent lighting and sit or stand for the duration of a shift.

Pay

Target hourly pay range: $17.00 to $22.00, determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, internal equity, and market alignment. Target bonus on base: 7.0%.
