About the role

Paktron is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician to oversee the performance and maintenance of production and facility machinery. This role supports operations and engineering to ensure production efficiency and product quality.

Responsibilities

  • Setup and repair production equipment
  • Engineering process support (tooling set-up, equipment start-up, etc.)
  • Work with operators and engineers to improve manufacturing efficiency and product quality
  • Preventative maintenance, equipment repairs and/or upgrades
  • Work with engineering staff and/or suppliers to maintain machines and operations
  • Assemble automation equipment using drawings and electrical schematics
  • Maintain equipment inventory and coordinate with purchasing to sustain inventory
  • Inspect and receive incoming equipment and/or machined parts
  • Troubleshoot electrical, electronic and mechanical breakdowns
  • Repair and replace air cylinders, hydraulic cylinders, meters, AC and DC motors, tension systems, bearings, relays, contactors, piping, vacuum pumps, counters, gears, and solenoids
  • Troubleshoot and repair large walk-in ovens, precision electronic equipment, power supplies, PLC’s, and other electronic equipment
  • Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts
  • Orders and installs replacement parts for machines
  • Prepare reports documenting work performed
  • Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies
  • Schedules regular maintenance on machines
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Maintain facility and grounds

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED with minimum 3-5 years of machine maintenance experience, or an associate degree in engineering and 1-2 years of related experience
  • Proficiency in fixing and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment and facilities
  • Knowledge of mechanical devices (motors, pumps, pneumatic valves)
  • Strong ability to work independently, identify issues, and resolve them efficiently
  • Capacity to work effectively in fast-paced production environment
  • Willingness and ability to learn and grow with role
  • Basic computer skills and aptitude for learning maintenance software
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate with others
  • Ability to use machining tools (lathe, mill) and measuring devices
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic electrical devices (ovens, motor starters, switches, fuses, breakers)
  • Knowledge of 3-phase electrical power
  • Self-driven with strong time management skills and an appreciation for project timelines
  • Experience identifying environmental, health, and safety risks and implementing corrective actions
  • Time management and organization skills
  • Collaborative team-oriented mindset and personality with a hands-on can-do attitude
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint)
  • Willing and able to learn other applications as needed
