Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Electro-Mechanical Technician to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing complex automated manufacturing equipment and systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and Repair: Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic failures on production machinery, including PLCs, motors, VFDs, conveyors, and automated systems.
- Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine preventative and predictive maintenance (PM) inspections and servicing to ensure optimal equipment reliability.
- Read & Interpret Schematics: Analyze electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, blueprints, and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) to locate and resolve system issues.
- Installation & Calibration: Install, align, and calibrate new electromechanical components, sensors, actuators, and production machinery.
- Safety, Quality & GMP Compliance: Adhere strictly to all occupational safety protocols (LOTO, NFPA 70E, OSHA) as well as food safety and quality regulations, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and HACCP guidelines, to prevent product contamination.
- Workplace Organization (5S): Maintain a clean, safe, and highly organized shop and production floor environment by practicing and promoting 5S methodologies (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain).
- Collaboration & Documentation: Document all maintenance actions, parts used, and repairs in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Work closely with production teams to optimize equipment performance.
Qualifications And Skills
- Experience: 3+ years of experience working as a maintenance or electro-mechanical technician in an automated manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Education & Training: High school diploma or equivalent. Technical school training, a completed apprenticeship, or military technical experience is highly preferred.
- Electrical Expertise: Hands-on experience with AC/DC circuits, control panels, wiring, variable frequency drives (VFDs), and three-phase power systems (up to 480V).
- Mechanical Expertise: Solid understanding of mechanical power transmission, gearboxes, bearings, shafts, and fluid power systems (pneumatics and hydraulics).
- Automation/PLC Knowledge: Troubleshooting knowledge of PLC hardware and software (specifically Allen-Bradley) is preferred.
- Lean Manufacturing: Familiarity with 5S principles and lean manufacturing practices is highly desirable.

Requirements
- EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High School diploma or equivalent, and more than three years experience with maintenance of production machinery, electricity and pumps.
