About the role
This position is onsite in Creedmoor, NC, reporting to the Production Supervisor. The Electro-Mechanical Technician will assemble parts into sub-assemblies, units, or systems for heavy-duty and high-voltage Integrated Power Node Centers (IPNCs) electronic products.
Responsibilities
- Assemble parts into sub-assemblies, units, or systems for heavy-duty and high-voltage Integrated Power Node Centers (IPNCs) electronic products.
- Troubleshoot and rework assembled units that fail standard tests using drawings, final assembly blueprints, and/or verbal and written instructions.
- Perform tests and/or inspections of heavy-duty and high-voltage Integrated Power Node Centers (IPNCs) electronic products.
- Work with electro-mechanical LRUs containing PCB/modules.
- Perform tests using test equipment and software such as oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, frequency generators, multi-meters, and other testing equipment.
- Complete and maintain all required documentation and records accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assist engineering personnel in troubleshooting, modification, and/or repair of non-conforming units.
- Perform calibration, in-line inspection, and final inspection of units/assemblies.
- Maintain all test production equipment and fixtures, including soldering ability.
- Troubleshoot equipment and process issues that arise and create positive solutions.
- Support and resolve issues with test equipment supplied by the transition group.
- Adhere to company policies including general workmanship, FOD control, and documentation.
- Provide cover during operational working hours (may include early, swing, and night shifts) and work overtime as required by the business.
- Comply with production processes and procedures, production schedules, and recording standards using business IT systems (e.g., ERP/MRP/MES).
Requirements
- Associate degree in electronics field or equivalent military training required.
- Minimum 2 years of experience working in an electro-mechanical or electronic test environment.
- Ability to read blueprints, troubleshoot from schematics, and assist in writing test procedures.
- Proficiency in the use of test, inspection, and calibration equipment.
- Demonstrated hands-on manufacturing/shop floor experience.
- Experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, Access, etc.).
- Proven ability to initiate and execute change into mature processes.
- Mechanically inclined with an understanding of production fabrication and assembly.
- Deep firsthand knowledge of manufacturing operations, real-time shop support, and troubleshooting skills.
- Soldering experience (J-STD-001 & IPC-A-610 preferred).
- Experience with wiring and wiring harnesses.
- Experience with heavy-duty and high-voltage Integrated Power Node Centers (IPNCs) electronic products.
Candidates shall be required to successfully conduct testing procedures and a physical dexterity assessment during the interview.
