About the role

Dover Food Retail (DFR) is a leading manufacturer of Display Cases, Specialty Products, Refrigeration Systems, Power Systems and Comprehensive Services. We are looking for an Electro-Mechanical Technician who will be responsible for routine maintenance support to the operations departments in a highly automated environment.

Responsibilities

This multi-craft position (electrical, mechanical, and electronic) will be responsible for troubleshooting mechanical, electronic, and electrical industrial equipment for a designated department within the plant. The ideal candidate must have a continuous improvement mindset while achieving the overall objectives with preventative maintenance and quick repair for trouble calls from Production Leaders.

  • Assists other Technicians in the repair and maintenance of equipment.
  • Diagnoses mechanical and electrical problems using technical drawings (e.g., blueprints, electronic/mechanical schematics) and diagnostic tools (e.g., multi-meter, laptop)
  • Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot & repair electrical, electronic systems, control and components of industrial machines, tools, and production/utility equipment.
  • Diagnose, repair, and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical/electronic problems with equipment, networks, PC logic control Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and external Input/Output (I/O) devices where the repair is not immediately visible or obvious.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

The basic qualifications for this role include:

  • Enrolled in Trade/Technical School certification
  • 3+ years Mechanical troubleshooting and repair
  • 3+ years plus Electrical troubleshooting and repair

The preferred qualifications for this role include:

  • Trade/Technical School certification
  • 5+ years Mechanical troubleshooting and repair
  • 5+ years plus Electrical troubleshooting and repair
  • Experience in robotics
  • Controls Troubleshooting experience
  • Networking Troubleshooting experience

Qualifications

  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks efficiently
  • Good teamwork and communication skills and ability to work with minimal supervision

  • Ability to work with machine operators, mechanics, contractors and/or vendors
