Job Title: Electro-Mechanical TechnicianJob Description The Electro-Mechanical Technician assembles lithium-ion battery packs, modules, and power-electronics sub-assemblies while supporting production operations and ensuring high standards of safety and quality. This role combines hands-on electrical and mechanical work, including inspection, testing, and documentation, in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Assemble lithium-ion battery packs, modules, and power-electronics sub-assemblies according to specifications and work instructions.Perform electrical, functional, and visual inspections on components and finished products to verify quality and performance.Assist with production line installation and workstation setup, including configuring tools, fixtures, and equipment as needed.Use hand tools, soldering equipment, and test equipment such as multimeters and power supplies to build and verify assemblies.Identify and report defects, test failures, safety concerns, or process issues promptly to support continuous improvement.Accurately complete production and quality documentation, ensuring records are clear, complete, and compliant with procedures.Maintain a clean, safe, and ESD-controlled work area, following established safety and electrostatic discharge control practices. Essential Skills Proven experience in electrical assembly and troubleshooting within a production or manufacturing environment.Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with a variety of hand tools and assembly equipment.Ability to read and interpret basic electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly instructions.Proficiency with soldering and wiring for electronic assemblies.Familiarity with ESD (electrostatic discharge) controls and safe handling of sensitive electronic components.Demonstrated attention to detail with a strong commitment to safety and product quality.High school diploma or GED.Approximately 3 or more years of experience in electronics or manufacturing (preferred). Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience using test equipment such as multimeters and power supplies to verify electrical performance.Experience with electrical testing procedures in a production or lab environment.Knowledge of lithium-ion battery handling and safety practices.Background in electronics or electro-mechanical manufacturing environments.Ability to document work clearly and accurately in production and quality systems.Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to identify and escalate process or safety issues. Work Environment This position operates in a production and assembly environment focused on lithium-ion battery packs, modules, and power-electronics sub-assemblies. You will regularly use hand tools, soldering equipment, and electronic test equipment such as multimeters and power supplies. The workspace follows ESD-controlled practices to protect sensitive electronics and emphasizes a clean, organized, and safety-conscious setting. Work typically involves standing at workstations, performing repetitive assembly and inspection tasks, and collaborating with other technicians and production staff to support efficient, high-quality output. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Naperville, IL. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $36.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
