Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for efficient, on-time delivery, within budget for production of electronic assemblies from prototype to full rate production
  • Lead production efforts of a team to include inventory and kitting, electro-mechanical assemblers, cable assemblers, polymerics, machinists, and metal fabrication personnel
  • Direct day-to-day manufacturing activities based on schedule requirements and managing personnel priorities
  • Maintain work order status reporting to Program Management
  • Maintain required reports and metrics like WIP and OTD
  • Ensure employee conform to required processes and procedures
  • Oversees all lab maintenance, preventive maintenance, lab supplies/inventory of consumables, equipment calibration
  • Manages lab budgets
  • Hires and determines resources required to execute tasking based on backlogged and forecasted work
  • Manages personnel management including timesheet approvals, career development, training plans and annual performance evaluations
  • Estimates production labor costs and develops schedules
  • Interfaces with Test Team, Quality Assurance and Project Managers
  • Adheres to health and safety procedures
  • Supports Non-Conformance/Continual Improvement opportunities
  • Works closely with Senior Leadership in support of strategic business initiatives

AS9100D

  • Supports internal audits and recurring surveillance audits

Desired Skills

  • Familiarity with cable assembly processes to IPC-A-620 w/space requirements
  • Familiarity with CNC machining and sheet metal fabrication
  • Familiar with polymerics and NASA-STD-8739.1B
  • Experience with a quality management system such as AS9100
  • Prior experience working with space applications
  • Experience with environmental and reliability testing from shock and vibration testing to thermal/vacuum testing
  • Experience with Non-Conformance, Failure Review Boards and Manufacturing Review Boards
