About the role
This role is part of Alcon's Engineering function, a team focused on improving quality, processes, products, packaging, and materials across our business to help deliver brilliant outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative and corrective maintenance for all production equipment including, technical problems in mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and control systems
- Assisting others with technical problems within the team, including production personnel
- Assisting in the parts repair shop to rebuild and restore used parts to an “as-built” condition, adding to the annual cost avoidance total
- Assisting with improvements to the maintenance systems (Preventative, Corrective, Predictive, and Spare Parts)
- Assisting with technical projects for equipment retrofits and upgrades, and with revising or writing SOPs and shop repair instructions
- Optimizing manufacturing equipment and processes to provide balanced gains in product quality, output, product yield, and cost reduction
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or Equivalent
- The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
- One Year of Relevant Experience
- Work hours: 36 - 48 hours per week: 6:30 AM EST – 6:30 PM EST (12-hour rotating day shift: 2 days on, 2 days off, and every other weekend)
Qualifications
- Industrial Maintenance Experience
- Experience in troubleshooting & repairing production equipment
- A related technical school certification or equivalent training or experience (e.g., manufacturing technology, electrical engineering, etc.)
Skills
- Fluency in English
- Technical troubleshooting and repair skills
- Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and control systems
- Problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
