What You’ll Do
As a Master Electrician, you will perform and oversee commercial electrical installations, maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on commercial construction projects throughout the Richmond area. Responsibilities Include:
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial electrical and control systems
- Work with relays, starters, switches, motors, and motor control equipment
- Install and support Motor Control Centers, switchgear, transformers, and power distribution systems
- Install heat tracing systems, cable trays, conduit, wiring, conductors, and junction boxes
- Run conduit, pull wire, terminate conductors, and complete electrical installations according to project specifications
- Diagnose electrical issues and complete repairs efficiently and safely
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, plans, and specifications
- Ensure work complies with NEC, OSHA, local codes, and company safety standards
- Work independently or oversee assigned electrical work with minimal supervision
- Provide technical guidance and leadership to helpers, apprentices, and other electricians as needed
- Support quality control, productivity, and safe jobsite practices
Required Qualifications
- Active Master Electrician license
- Commercial electrical experience
- Strong knowledge of NEC code requirements
- Understanding of OSHA safety practices and jobsite safety standards
- Ability to work independently and manage assigned work with minimal supervision
- Ability to troubleshoot commercial electrical systems
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
Preferred Qualifications
- Trade school, apprenticeship, or formal electrical training
- Previous experience as an Electrical Foreman, Lead Electrician, or senior commercial electrician
- Experience working for an MEP contractor or commercial construction contractor
- Experience with large-scale commercial or industrial projects
