Major Responsibilities

Safely and efficiently perform electrical labor to complete construction associated with building cruise ships.

Aggressive work ethic with a focus on production.

  • Measures, cuts, and bends wire and conduit using appropriate measuring instruments and hand tools.
  • Drills holes and pull or push wiring through openings, using hand and power tools.
  • Performs labor duties related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Performs work on environmental regulating systems, pumps, and industrial lighting systems.
  • Grounding of electrical systems.
  • Strip insulation from wire ends and attaches wires for subsequent soldering.
  • Thread conduit ends, connect couplings, and fabricate and secures conduits support brackets using hand tools.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support operational needs.

Required Knowledge & Skills

  • Education & Experience: Completion of a high school electrical CTE (Career and Technical Education) program or adult education electrical trade course is preferred. Equivalent experience in residential, commercial, or industrial electrical work may be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring schematics, technical manuals, and templates. Proficient in calculating voltage, amperage, and resistance requirements. Familiarity with industry electrical codes and standards, including NEMA ratings. Understanding of three-phase power distribution systems (up to 600V). Knowledge of electrical distribution panels, console and instrumentation wiring, and control systems. Safe and effective use of electrical tools, equipment, and safety gear.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Clear and professional communication skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

  • All types of physical movement are required for this position to successfully perform the essential functions.
  • Ability to use upper and lower extremities.
  • Ability to work outside in heat, inclement weather, and cold.
  • Ability to crawl, kneel, crouch, climb, and bend around and under equipment, on ladders up to 24' at heights up to 70', stairs, scaffolds, through small accesses, enter inside of tanks, and confined spaces, through hatches, and manholes throughout much of the work shift.
  • Able to work over bodies of water.
  • Able to work in isolation within the skeleton of ships, wearing heavy protective gear and carrying equipment weighing up to 75lbs.

Mental Requirements

  • Normal level of visual acuity needed.
  • Must be able to understand and follow directions.
  • Normal hearing level needed.
  • Hand-eye coordination required.

Shift

  • Monday – Friday
  • 40+ hours per week
  • Day Shift: 6:00am – 2:30pm

Pay

  • Competitive Pay: $21.00 to $25.00 per hour, based on experience and education
  • $1,000 Sign-On Bonus: Paid in two installments after 60 and 180 days of continuous employment for eligible full-time positions.
  • Employee Referral Bonus: Earn $500 for each referred candidate who is hired.

    • 80 hours during your first year

Schedule

  • Monday – Friday
  • 40+ hours per week
  • Day Shift: 6:00am – 2:30pm
  • Overtime and Weekend required based on business needs
