Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, emergency systems, and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices and diagnostic tools.
  • Maintain and service critical systems such as emergency generators, transfer switches, UPS systems, fire alarm systems, and nurse call systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance per facility schedules and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA, NEC, Joint Commission, and local/state codes.
  • Respond to urgent and emergency service calls, including after-hours/on-call as scheduled.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
  • Clock in with hospital leadership for electrical shutdowns.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in CMMS systems (e.g., Corrigo, WorxHub).
  • Support inspections, surveys, and regulatory readiness.
  • Aid in general maintenance duties and cross-trade support.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid Journeyman or Master Electrician License.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of commercial or industrial electrical experience.
  • Knowledge of NEC codes and healthcare standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hospital or healthcare facility maintenance experience.
  • Experience with emergency power systems and life safety systems.
  • Familiarity with CMMS platforms such as Corrigo or Brightly WorxHub.
  • Experience with building automation systems.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing ladders.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and mechanical rooms.
  • Exposure to electrical hazards and varying temperatures.

Work Environment

  • Hospital and healthcare facilities including patient care areas.
  • Must follow safety protocols, infection control procedures, and PPE requirements.
  • Participation in on-call rotation may be required.

  • Maintain professional demeanor in patient areas.
  • Adhere to hospital policies and safety standards.
  • Support department goals related to safety and compliance.
