Although not regularly scheduled, some evening or weekend work may be required.

What You'll Do
Perform advanced-level electrical work to maintain and extend the service life of hospital facilities, utilities, and infrastructure.
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial electrical distribution systems.
- Maintain and service switchgear, motor control centers, emergency generator sets, and transfer switch equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve issues with A/C equipment and related electrical components.
- Apply life safety, electrical, and building codes in all work performed.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical service manuals.
- Utilize electrical testing devices to ensure safe and accurate system performance.
- Support a safe work environment and respond to urgent facility needs during on-call rotations.
- Travel as needed to local facilities to provide support
What We're Looking For
- Education
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Two-year vocational, technical, or trade education in an electrical field required, OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A three-year electrical apprenticeship program may be accepted in lieu of technical/trade education.
- Experience
- Minimum of five years of experience in commercial electrical distribution system installation and maintenance required.
- Equivalent experience in a related field combined with a three-year electrical apprenticeship may be considered.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Healthcare facility experience highly preferred.
- Knowledge of mechanical equipment operation and repair.
- Proficiency with personal computers and common PC software applications.
- Licensure
- A city/county journeyman's card and/or an electrician's license from state of employment, required.
- Valid NC Drivers License
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, pull, bend, stretch, and perform medium to heavy physical work.
- Ability to kneel for extended periods.
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Manual dexterity required to safely operate tools and equipment.
- Ability to hear and recognize changes in equipment and machine operation.
- Ability to work in noisy, fast-paced, and occasionally stressful environments.
- Ability to work extended shifts when needed.
