Job Summary

As an Electrician, Journeyman Solar with Overland Contracting Inc., you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems for solar projects. You will work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment, often in challenging conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems for solar projects.
  • Inspect and test electrical components to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to understand project requirements.
  • Operate various hand and power tools to perform tasks safely and efficiently.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and clients to resolve issues and clarify expectations.
  • Follow safety protocols and adhere to OSHA guidelines.

Management Responsibilities

  • Supervise and train junior electricians on proper installation techniques and safety procedures.
  • Coordinate with project managers and other tradespeople to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Manage the budget and schedule for assigned projects.
  • Ensure adherence to quality control standards and client satisfaction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience as an Electrician, Journeyman.
  • Knowledge of solar panel installation and maintenance.
  • Experience with electrical codes and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Valid journeyman electrician license in Florida.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of relevant training programs in electrical installation and maintenance.

Certifications

  • Required: Journeyman Electrician License.
  • Optional: OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

  • Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand, kneel, bend, stoop, move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas.
  • Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with requirements of the job duties.
  • Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls according to a set procedure.
  • Requires repetitive movement.
  • Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds.
  • Work up to a 12 hour shift doing hard physical labor in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.
  • Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.
  • Work around hazardous equipment.
