Job Summary
As an Electrician, Journeyman Solar with Overland Contracting Inc., you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems for solar projects. You will work in a fast-paced, outdoor environment, often in challenging conditions.Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems for solar projects.
- Inspect and test electrical components to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to understand project requirements.
- Operate various hand and power tools to perform tasks safely and efficiently.
- Communicate effectively with team members and clients to resolve issues and clarify expectations.
- Follow safety protocols and adhere to OSHA guidelines.
Management Responsibilities
- Supervise and train junior electricians on proper installation techniques and safety procedures.
- Coordinate with project managers and other tradespeople to ensure seamless project execution.
- Manage the budget and schedule for assigned projects.
- Ensure adherence to quality control standards and client satisfaction.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience as an Electrician, Journeyman.
- Knowledge of solar panel installation and maintenance.
- Experience with electrical codes and safety regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid journeyman electrician license in Florida.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of relevant training programs in electrical installation and maintenance.
Certifications
- Required: Journeyman Electrician License.
- Optional: OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification.
Work Environment/Physical Demands
- Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Stand, kneel, bend, stoop, move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas.
- Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with requirements of the job duties.
- Requires using hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls according to a set procedure.
- Requires repetitive movement.
- Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders and scaffolds.
- Work up to a 12 hour shift doing hard physical labor in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.
- Includes exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.
- Work around hazardous equipment.
