Electrician II

Position Summary

Responsibilities

• Works with Electrician I in maintaining, testing, repairing and installing electrical circuits, panels, devices and equipment.
• Performs electrical tasks independently, including diagnosis and resolution of problems and some work, such as changing out motor starters or running light duty circuits or changing heaters.
• Maintains repairs and installs electrical distribution systems throughout the hospital with voltages ranging from 120 volts up to 4160 volts, including breakers, transformers, panel boards, motor control centers, lighting and motor contractors, and feeder circuits.
• Maintains repairs and installs electrical equipment and appliances, such as fan, pump, and HVAC motors, control circuits for vacuum, air-water, and HVAC systems.
• Assists in maintaining, testing, repair, and installing Plant Fire Protection system, components, and wiring, including infrared and smoke detectors, pull stations, fire door operations, magnets, wiring, and relays.
• Measures, fabricates, and installs conduit and electrical duct to meet circuit and code requirements.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of National Electric Code (NEC) and other relevant codes.
• At least 1 year of electrical construction experience in commercial, industrial, and institutional wiring.
• Experience in hospital electrical maintenance.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret National Electric Code (NEC) and other codes.
• Experience with electrical distribution systems and equipment.
• Knowledge of hospital electrical maintenance procedures.

Skills

• Electrical troubleshooting and repair skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.

Benefits

• Flexible scheduling, including 1st shift from 8:00am-4:30pm with on-call weekend work every six weeks.

Pay

• $27.22 - $39.68 per hour.
