ELECTRICIAN I - SHIFT WORK - DANIEL K. INOUYE INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, OAHU

Duties Summary

Independently perform a variety of skilled electrical work in the repair, maintenance and installation of electrical systems and equipment as a regular and continuing assignment; may supervise one or more helpers assisting in the work; and perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualification Requirements

• LEGAL AUTHORIZATION TO WORK : The State of Hawaii Requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
• Electrician License: A valid State of Hawaii Journey Worker Electrician License, Journey Worker Industrial Electrician License, Supervising Electrician License, or Supervising Industrial Electrician License is required at the time of application.
• Driver's License: Some positions require possession of a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.
• Commercial Driver's License (CDL): Some positions require possession of a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A or Class B, no restrictions relating to code L (air brakes) within 6 months from the date of hire. A valid out-of-state CDL may also be accepted.
• Physical Requirements: Some positions may require lifting and carrying objects of varying weights without assistance or with the assistance of another person and/or the use of equipment (e.g., hoisting equipment, hand truck, etc.) for heavier loads, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Federal Criminal History Records Check: In accordance with Federal regulations, persons who are being considered for employment in positions which require unescorted access to secured areas at the airport, must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint-based criminal history record check. In order to be granted the Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) clearance, prospective employees must not have been convicted, or found "not guilty by reason of insanity," of a disqualifying criminal offense within 10 years from the date of the application. Upon recommendation for hire, prospective employees will be required to successfully undergo the fingerprint-based criminal history record check and be found free of disqualifying convictions during the preceding ten years.
