Responsibilities
- Remove, repair, and install electrical components and perform basic to intermediate troubleshooting
- Safely complete routine and non-routine repairs and construction
- Perform preventive maintenance, installation, and repair of industrial electrical and/or instrumentation equipment (e.g., substations, power distribution systems, switchgear motors, motor controls, process controls, instrumentation, and pneumatic equipment)
- Assist with troubleshooting of industrial electrical and/or instrumentation equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Completion of an approved certified electronics, electrical, and/or instrumentation program or a minimum of two (2) years of experience or a combination of education and experience in industrial electrical and/or instrumentation repair and maintenance
- Basic experience in the maintenance and repair of electrical circuits and connected equipment
- Valid state driver’s license
- Minimum personal tools as described by the department tool list (or ability to obtain them within 90 days of hire)
- Able to perform the essential functions of the job at the time of the job offer with or without reasonable accommodations
- Completion of academic and practical competencies (including Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where applicable)
- Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge and skills, and pass a written assessment where required (based on skills/abilities, academic knowledge, and safety)
Preferred Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Experience working with low and medium voltages
- Experience with AC and/or DC controls
- Experience with instrumentation devices
- Experience with diagnostic electrical test equipment
Working Conditions
- Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures in English
- Ability to communicate in English regarding job assignments, procedures, and safety standards
- Work environment may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes, or airborne particles
- Physical requirements include standing, sitting, manual dexterity, climbing stairs and ladders, working on elevated platforms, and occasional lifting of moderately heavy to heavy objects (up to 50 pounds)
- Must complete pre-employment color perception and electrical/instrumentation assessments
- May be required to work rotating shifts in a 24/7/365 operation, including weekends, holidays, and both scheduled and unscheduled overtime
- Personal protective equipment (PPE) required, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and other gear as needed
Pay
The estimated pay range for this role is $29.00 - $39.00/hour (base salary only). This range reflects experience, qualifications, and skills. The role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payments based on company and individual performance.
