About the role
The Electrical Apprentice position at Austin Industrial is a full-time maintenance job working 40 hours a week (4/10's). There is no per diem and no relocation funding.
Responsibilities
- Measure and bend conduit.
- Gathers tools and supplies to be used at the work site according to the instructions of the senior electrician.
- Must be able to take measurements and cut wire using a ruler and hand tools.
- Drills holes for wiring, using power drill and pulls or pushes wiring through opening.
- Trace out short circuits in wiring, using knowledge of wiring and test meter.
- Aids in lifting, positioning or fastening objects such as wiring, conduit, and motors.
- Performs minor repairs, such as replacing fuses, light sockets, bulbs and switches.
- Might disassemble defective electrical equipment, replace worn or defective parts and reassemble equipment.
- Must be able to perform work wearing personnel protective equipment.
Requirements
- No minimum education requirements.
- 6 months of experience, preferred.
- Must pass a background check and medical, as conditions of employment.
