About the role
Sterling Engineering is partnering with a well-established manufacturer to hire an Electrical Test Technician to support the assembly and testing of electrical power distribution equipment. The location of the role is Franklin, WI 53132.
Responsibilities
- Assemble electrical power distribution and power quality products using blueprints, bills of materials, and engineering documentation.
- Perform mechanical assembly, disconnect assemblies, and final product inspections.
- Conduct high-voltage electrical testing, including:
- Partial Discharge Testing
- Dielectric Testing
- Calibration Testing
- Timing Tests
- Low Voltage Testing
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues during testing.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and assembly drawings.
- Safely operate hand tools, torque tools, wiring equipment, and other production equipment.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards while meeting production goals.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience performing high-voltage electrical testing (5kV / 3-phase or similar).
- Ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting experience.
- Experience using hand tools, torque tools, wiring equipment, and precision measuring tools.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Manufacturing or electrical assembly experience preferred.

Pay and Schedule
The schedule for this role is 1st Shift: Monday - Thursday | 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM, with overtime 2-3 Fridays per month. The pay rate is $27.00/hour.
