About the role
Frontier-Kemper, a Tutor Perini Company, is seeking an Electrical Technician to join their office in Evansville, IN.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and control panels.
- Troubleshoot electrical malfunctions and diagnose issues using testing and diagnostic equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and specifications.
- Perform preventative maintenance on electrical equipment and systems.
- Install conduit, wiring, cable trays, motors, transformers, lighting systems, and related electrical components.
- Test electrical systems and components to verify proper operation and code compliance.
- Assist with startup, commissioning, and functional testing of electrical installations.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and work orders.
- Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and company safety policies.
- Cookordination with project managers, engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors to complete assigned work.
- Identify potential electrical hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organized manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED required; technical school or electrical training program preferred.
- 3+ years of experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems.
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable safety regulations.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Proficiency using electrical testing equipment such as multimeters, meggers, and circuit analyzers.
- Experience with motors, motor controls, switchgear, transformers, and electrical distribution systems.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Knowledge of lockout/tagout procedures and electrical safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic maintenance systems is a plus.
- Ability to work overtime, weekends, and travel to project sites as required.
