- Lead definition of system requirements, interfaces, diagnostics strategies, and verification plans across electromechanical products.
- Architect, select, and integrate system components (motors, inverters, batteries, chargers, sensors, switches, and harnesses) to meet performance, durability, manufacturability, safety, and cost targets.
- Develop and tune controls systems for machine applications, including motors, actuators, and power-stage electronics, in close collaboration with firmware/software teams.
- Drive system definition activities including architecture specifications, functional decomposition, and traceability from stakeholder needs to hardware and software interfaces.
- Lead system-level verification and validation activities using schematics, oscilloscopes, meters, DAQ systems, simulation tools, and data analysis to confirm performance, durability, and reliability targets are met.
- Lead definition and documentation of functional safety concepts, safety functions, and performance allocations in partnership with safety, legal, and regulatory stakeholders.
- Coordinate and facilitate product and platform-level risk assessments, including hazard identification, risk evaluation, and mitigation strategy development.
- Support compliance activities in partnership with regulatory teams and external labs for EMC, safety, and functional safety requirements.
- Serve as a technical integrator across electrical, mechanical, software, controls, and safety disciplines to ensure aligned system behavior and design intent throughout the product lifecycle.
- Operate as the technical nexus between mechanical, electrical, software, marketing, systems, and other groups to align solutions with customer needs and program objectives.
- Lead and contribute to concept development, feasibility studies, and production launch activities within cross-functional teams.
- Lead hands-on prototyping, instrumentation, and integration of electrical, mechanical, and software systems to evaluate concepts and mature designs.
- Execute fast-fail experiments and structured testing to quickly learn, iterate, and reduce technical risk.
- Provide day-to-day technical guidance to junior engineers and collaborate effectively with suppliers.
