Electrical Engineer - Power Systems
Responsibilities
- Performs electrical power systems studies and analysis for industrial and utility clients using industry standard analysis software (ETAP, SKM, etc.)
- Creates study cases, analyzes results, and provides detailed written reports
- Works with clients and other Nexus personnel to prepare studies including:
- Theoretical and practical aspects of power systems studies
- Relay coordination studies
- Load flow analysis
- Power system harmonics analysis
- Motor starting studies
- Arc flash hazard studies
- Creates and analyzes relay setting files
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required
- Working knowledge of ETAP is required
- Familiarity with other systems analysis tools such as SKM is desired
- 5+ years of experience in power systems studies
- Strong working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office products
Education/Certification Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required

About the Role
The Electrical Engineer - Power Systems reports to the Senior Electrical Engineer or Engineering Discipline Manager. Completed technical work is provided to senior management prior to presentation to the client. This position will require occasional travel (2-3 times per year) of up to one week to visit client facilities to gather data along with other Nexus personnel.
