Electrical Systems Engineer

Piper Companies is seeking a senior-level engineering professional to support an organization within the electrical interconnect manufacturing industry, with up to 30% travel in the U.S.

About the role

This position is ideal for an engineer with extensive experience designing and leading complex interconnect solutions that align customer requirements with business and manufacturing capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end system architecture and technical roadmap for advanced electrical interconnect and cable backplane solutions.
• Translate customer and business needs into system-level requirements with a focus on signal integrity, mechanical fit, thermal performance, and scalability.
• Create and evaluate technical documentation including system specifications, engineering drawings, and prototype or proof-of-concept designs.
• Serve as the technical liaison between OEM customers and manufacturing partners, ensuring alignment across design, production, and delivery.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance across cross-functional engineering, sales, and customer-facing teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; master's degree preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in electronic and/or mechanical engineering with a focus on interconnecting or electromechanical systems.
• Understanding of interconnect architectures and how they support both internal business objectives and customer system designs.
• Experience with CAD and modeling tools such as Pro/ENGINEER (Creo) or SolidWorks preferred.
• Strong communication, customer service, and stakeholder engagement skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

Pay

Salary: $170,000 - $200,000 annually
