Key Responsibilities
- Oversee management of all project craft employees.
- Work closely with the project management team to ensure adherence to the project schedule and budget.
- Maintain the construction schedule for the entire project, ensuring its accuracy and relevance throughout the project lifecycle.
- Train foremen to develop, monitor, and adhere to a 3-week look-ahead schedule accordingly.
- Oversee procurement of materials and equipment necessary for the project.
- Ensure that all work meets required standards and compliance.
- Aid in the implementation of QA/QC programs.
- Promote and enforce safety standards on the project site.
- This includes conducting safety audits, providing safety training to staff, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Promptly report any violations of policies, procedures, or safety guidelines to the appropriate parties.
- Ensure all employees within the team know and follow the company’s safety, work rules, and policies.
- Oversee field communication between project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and team members.
- Attend meetings and ensure all parties are informed of project progress.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in the electrical trade, preferably with data center construction or related fields.
- Experience managing projects with multiple crews and at least 150 craft employees.
- Proficiency in interpreting and comprehending drawings, submittals, specifications, and BIM detailing.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and industry standards.
- Commitment to safety and quality, maintaining compliance with company, state, and OSHA safety standards.
- Ability to develop, monitor, and adjust construction schedules for overall projects.
- Ability to contribute to or direct installation and troubleshooting processes.
- Ability to coordinate manpower needs and material orders following competitive price comparisons.
- Willingness and ability to work outdoors the majority of the time.
- Maintain compliance with company, state and OSHA safety standards.
Work Environment
- Outside most of the time.
- Potential exposure to extreme cold and hot temperatures.
- Manufacturing and refining environment.
- Fit and move in confined spaces including tanks and vessels.
- Limited working surfaces.
- Exposure to noise above 85 decibels and intense odors.
- Exposure to areas with limited visibility.
- Climbing up and down stairs and ladders to both get in and out of trenches and up to elevated platforms (scaffolding at significant heights).
- Lifting necessary equipment and materials 1-50 pounds, 50% of the time on a monthly basis for required tasks.
- Potential or periodic amounts of time for the following: Driving if required to travel.
