About the role
As an Electrical Superintendent, you will serve as the primary job site supervisor with operational responsibility for employees involved in the installation, alteration, addition, and/or repair of electrical systems, conductors, and associated materials and equipment for mid to large size ground-up or tenant finish projects. This role requires complex coordination of multiple subordinate supervisors and crews.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all FSG Construction field trades on an electrical construction project.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to perform working estimates and take-offs.
- Lay out work for subordinate supervisors and lead persons, ensuring materials, tools, equipment, information, and appropriate manpower are available in the proper place and time.
- Establish work schedules and man-loading charts; proficiency with computers, tablets, and smartphones is required.
- Interface with General Contractor representatives on day-to-day project scheduling and overall performance issues.
- Provide general supervision to subordinate foremen engaged in installing electrical feeders; equipment such as pumps, motors, and generators; control and distribution apparatus such as switchgear, relays, and circuit breaker panels; lighting fixtures and outlets; and related connections and terminations.
- Monitor work progress, direct subordinate supervisors and crews, and schedule work according to the pace of the job and coordination with other trades.
- Perform supervised work for production or instruction as needed.
- Handle or oversee office correspondence and administrative paperwork, including official forms, daily reports, time sheets/tickets, and safety reports.
- Ensure overall project safety performance, including proper training or instruction for assigned duties.
- Assure compliance with all FSG safety processes and protocols; investigate or assist in reporting accidents or safety incidents involving job-site employees.
Requirements
- High School Diploma (minimum).
- Must possess all skills of lower-rated positions, including Foreman, Journeyman, A4, and E4.
- Valid Driver’s License.
- 6+ years of commercial/industrial electrical experience.
- Ability to fulfill physical job requirements, including lifting over 50 lbs, squatting, crouching, kneeling, balancing, climbing, and pushing/pulling body weight.
- OSHA 30 Certification (minimum) or ability to obtain it within 30 days of hire.
