About the role
As a Field Superintendent you will plan, direct, coordinate, and supervise personnel and activities concerned with the installation and maintenance of electrical systems and components. You will collaborate with the Project Manager, Field Operation Manager, General Superintendent, Safety, BIM, Pre-Fabrication, and QA/QC departments to ensure Adams Electric standards and processes are fulfilled on each project. Additionally, you will assist the Field Operation Manager in evaluating temporary employees for company status (Associate vs. temporary).
Responsibilities
- Supervise and direct electrical work in logical steps, budgeting time to meet deadlines and coordinating with other trades to ensure compliance with the overall project schedule and contract documents.
- Training and Development: Assist the Field Operation Manager with the review process for both Adams employees and associates.
- Scheduling:
- Create and maintain project schedules, including crew organization and manpower projections.
- Develop a field organization chart for the project in collaboration with the Project Manager and Field Operation Manager.
- Update the schedule and manpower projections weekly.
- Set and track measurable production goals for individuals and crews.
- Material Management / Jobsite Logistics:
- Create and maintain a material management and logistics plan, including determining material needs, ordering, receiving, and organizing materials.
- Develop the plan prior to project start with the Project Manager and Field Operation Manager.
- Implement and adjust the plan throughout the project in collaboration with Vendor Partners.
- Safety:
- Create and maintain a project-specific safety plan, including daily reports, PPE management, and accident management.
- Develop the safety plan with the Onsite Safety Manager.
- Ensure adherence to the project-specific safety plan and Adams Electric company standards with the Field Operation Manager, Onsite Safety Manager, and Foremen.
- Quality Control:
- Create and maintain a QA/QC plan, including specification and code compliance, internal punch list management, and managing punch lists from the general contractor, owner, and design team.
- Develop the QA/QC plan with the Onsite QA/QC Manager.
- Ensure adherence to the project-specific QA/QC plan and Adams Electric company standards, testing, and documentation.
- BIM / Design:
- Lead layout efforts for BIM prior to the project with assistance from foremen.
- Review drawings throughout the process to ensure quality control.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager, Field Operation Manager, and BIM Manager to develop a BIM schedule, ensuring all drawings are delivered and reviewed prior to pre-fabrication and onsite installation dates.
- Pre-Fabrication:
- Create and maintain a pre-fabrication plan, including determining appropriate assemblies, ensuring they meet project specifications, and managing delivery and installation schedules.
- Develop the Pre-Fabrication plan schedule with the Project Manager, Field Operation Manager, Prefab Foreman, and BIM Manager to ensure all drawings are delivered and reviewed prior to the pre-fabrication date.
Requirements
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Licensure as an electrician OR 4-10 years of related experience or equivalent knowledge and experience.
Working Conditions
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required (hard hat, vest, protective eyewear, safety boots).
- Work is performed indoors and outdoors, often exposed to natural elements such as cold, heat, moisture, and wind.
- Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 lbs on a regular basis.
- Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements and background screening process.
