Essential Work

• Maintain log of shift activities, alarms and system malfunctions.
• Responds to equipment and system status indicators, alarms, air traffic control tower notifications, and special and emergency situations by contacting appropriate individuals or agencies.
• Operates CCTV video/audio tape recording and dubbing systems.
• Communicates with other personnel via two-way radio.
• Answers Operations Center telephone system, public paging service and provide airport and flight information to the public.
• Completes procedural checklist, enters data and prepares reports using various computer software applications for the facilities and equipment maintenance program, access control system, public information and response system, and a variety of other operating and database systems.
• Maintains manual files, prepares and maintains training instructions and manuals.
• Provides instruction to others to function at a level equal to the position.
• Brief other personnel on security conditions.
• Receives and documents lost and found items.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school and one year of work experience involving security, communication or surveillance center operations, or any combination of education and work experience which demonstrates sufficient ability to perform the functions of the job.
• Possession of a valid Iowa driver’s license or evidence of equivalent mobility.
• Ability to pass certain aviation industry employment standards, including but not limited to a Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) background check.
