Electrical Inspector (Building Codes)
About the role
The Clackamas County Department of Transportation & Development seeks an Electrical Inspector to join the Building Codes team. This position is responsible for administering Oregon building, plumbing, electrical, mechanical and related codes, and Clackamas County ordinances and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Conducting electrical inspections on residential, commercial, and industrial installations
- Evaluating electric materials, products, and methods of installation
- Writing accurate and clear inspection reports
- Calculating electrical loads
- Inspecting existing or fire-damaged electrical systems for deterioration and hazardous conditions
- Enforcing proper electrical licensure according to administrative rules and statutes
- Participating in team meetings and collaborating with other stakeholders
- Providing excellent customer service to the public and internal stakeholders
Requirements
- Required Minimum Qualifications: Oregon Inspector Certification (OIC) and Electrical Specialty Code Inspector (EI) Certification
- Preferred Special Qualifications: Experience conducting electrical inspections, evaluating materials/products per their listings, and working around high voltage installations

Pay
$86,104.16 - $108,665.51 annually, or $41.396233 - $52.243034 hourly
Schedule
This position works 40 hours during a standard workweek of Monday through Friday. Specific hours of work will be discussed with the candidate selected for this position at the time an offer of employment is extended. The position is eligible for hybrid on-site/telework and based on the Department’s business needs. The exact amount of on-site/telework and schedule will be discussed with the hiring manager during the time of offer. Telework locations cannot be located outside of Oregon or Washington. Washington residents must perform 50% of their time on-site at Clackamas County. Benefits become effective the first of the month following an employee’s date of hire.
