Building Electrical Inspector

About the role

SAFEbuilt is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Building Official. This position will be responsible for overseeing the building department's operations, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal building codes, and providing technical guidance to applicants.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the review and approval of construction plans and permits
• Inspect buildings and construction sites to ensure compliance with building codes
• Provide technical guidance to applicants regarding building codes and regulations
• Enforce building codes and regulations to prevent unsafe structures from being built
• Respond to complaints and inquiries related to building code violations
• Prepare reports and documentation as required by regulatory bodies

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in building inspection or related field
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal building codes and regulations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Qualifications

• Experience with building permit systems and software
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Pay

$80,000 - $90,000 annually
