Electrical Inspector
About the role
Join AECOM as an Electrical Inspector and contribute to the successful delivery of high-quality construction projects. This role involves confirming compliance with project design and specifications, industry standards for electrical systems. You will play a critical role in maintaining the integrity and functionality of electrical installations while collaborating with a team of professionals dedicated to excellence.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the installation of wiring, conduits, panels, lighting, and power systems to confirm proper execution
- Oversee testing, commissioning, and energization of electrical systems
- Conduct detailed inspections of electrical installations, materials, and equipment for adherence to contract specifications, codes, and safety standards
- Coincide with other inspectors and disciplines to resolve electrical system integration issues
- Review contractor shop drawings and submittals to confirm alignment with project specifications
- Identify, document and report non-conformances, coordinating with contractors and engineers to implement corrective actions
- Conduct labor interviews to verify proper worker classification and wage compliance
- Immediately notify contractors and relevant officials of any potentially life-threatening safety conditions
- Maintain detailed inspection reports, logs, and records for quality assurance and compliance tracking
- Oversee corrective actions for unacceptable construction work and support final inspections, punch lists, and project closeouts
- Witness and document critical tests, such as pressure tests, leak tests, and system start-ups
- Verify the quality of materials, workmanship, and equipment installations to confirm adherence to project specifications
Qualifications
- Minimum Requirements: HS + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Experience with local codes
- Experience with construction methods and techniques
- Preferred Requirements: BA/BS in Construction, Electrical engineering or equivalent certification
- Waived for eight (8) years of similar inspection role
- OSHA 10-hour training certification
- Certified Construction Quality Manager for Contractors (CQM-C) preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software
- Experience working with federal Project Management Systems

Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The range for this position is $125000 to $135000 per year.
