Responsibilities

  • Support the safe, efficient and cost effective production of electric energy by performing various power plant electrical tasks.
  • Utilizes available documentation, drawings and schematics to identify and troubleshoot problems.
  • Repairs/replaces cables, electrical insulation, and electrical components as required.
  • Performs preventative maintenance work and provides feedback for follow up work and maintenance program improvement.
  • Performs job preparation and layout utilizing vendor data, drawings, and other available information.
  • Competent and responsible use of hand and power tools.
  • Operates forklifts, hoists, mobile and gantry cranes as required to perform duties.
  • Performs necessary rigging in connection with assigned duties.
  • Performs troubleshooting of electrical devices and systems utilizing drawings and diagnostic tools.
  • Efficiently uses computer technology to operate work management systems, to access work orders, input historical data report time, and order parts.
  • Provides training for other facility personnel in identified tasks.
  • Employee performs in a leadership capacity, including assigning, overseeing, directing and taking responsibility for the work of other classifications.
  • May be required to work a reasonable amount of overtime.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required.
  • Completion of an appropriate Apprenticeship program or equivalent.
  • Experience as an Electrical Specialist in Power Generation.
  • Successful completion of an SRP Electrical Specialist job knowledge test for candidates who are not currently an SRP electrical specialist and have not successfully completed an SRP Electrical Apprenticeship program.
  • Must complete a job function questionnaire.
  • Pass a Physical Agility Test and SRP Journeyman Plant Electrician Job Knowledge Test.

Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.

Skills

Pay

Commensurate with experience.

Schedule

Hybrid Workplace - Employees whose jobs can be performed remotely, and who have sufficient technical capability, may telework up to three days per week. Although teleworking is available, all employees must live and work in Arizona.
