Electrical Service tech

Done Right Hood & Fire Safety is seeking a highly motivated, skilled Electrician / Service Technician to join our growing team in Brooklyn, NY (serving NYC, Long Island, NJ & surrounding areas). We specialize in troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and replacing electrical and mechanical components related to commercial kitchen exhaust systems and ventilation equipment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair exhaust motors, blowers, belts, bearings, and ventilation systems
• Service and diagnose motor controls, contactors, starters, disconnects, relays, and electrical components
• Install, troubleshoot, and program VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives)
• Diagnose and repair precipitator wiring, power packs, and control systems
• Service and troubleshoot CaptiveAire and Accurex control systems
• Perform electrical diagnostics, wiring repairs, and component replacements
• Respond to emergency service calls when needed
• Inspect and troubleshoot rooftop exhaust fans and make-up air systems
• Work safely at heights on rooftops and ladders
• Complete service reports and communicate findings professionally with customers and office staff

Qualifications

• Experience as an Electrician, HVAC Electrical Technician, Exhaust Technician, Industrial Maintenance Technician, or Controls Technician
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
• Experience with motors, VFDs, motor controls, wiring, relays, switches, and electrical schematics
• Experience with CaptiveAire, Accurex, or commercial kitchen ventilation systems is a major plus
• Ability to troubleshoot independently and solve problems in the field
• Comfortable working on rooftops and heights (not afraid of heights)
• Valid driver’s license required
• Must be reliable, motivated, organized, and responsive
• Ability to work overtime and respond to after-hours emergencies when necessary
• OSHA, electrical, HVAC, or trade certifications are a plus
