About the Role

As a Service Manager at CEC, you will manage all aspects of the service department to ensure its continued profitability and growth. This includes overseeing daily dispatching, efficiencies of service technicians, reviewing billing and warranty claims, and interacting with other managers regarding warranty, start-up, and installation needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, directing, and controlling all phases of the company’s electrical service operations.
  • Evaluate and schedule service work to best utilize manpower and maximize profits.
  • Bid on and accurately maintain service agreements.
  • Meet goals and maintain customer satisfaction for the company.
  • Work closely with clients, lead technicians, and other office staff members.
  • Train, develop, and hold your team accountable to performance standards and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Participate in budget planning and meeting preparation.
  • Ensure thoroughness in billing for all parts and materials.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective processes, project completion, and smooth department operation.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ management experience in a service industry.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

Work Environment

The role may require working inside or outside, with possible exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures, weather elements, restricted or confined spaces, and slippery or uneven surfaces. Exposure to construction environments, including ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, and catwalks, is typical. The role also operates in an office setting using standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to traverse and inspect all areas of a jobsite in all types of weather, including walking, climbing, reaching, bending, crawling, standing, or stretching.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 40 pounds.
  • Regular movement on feet; ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • May require travel and exposure to characteristic construction site dangers.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, including by telephone.
  • Good vision (normal or corrected), including close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Good hearing (normal or corrected).
  • Must wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest) as needed.

Schedule

  • Must be able to work 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week, with overtime as required.
  • Night shifts may be needed.
  • Must be on-call to address delays, emergencies, bad weather, and other jobsite issues.
  • Must be able to work in the presence of customers with minimal disruption while maintaining a professional and courteous image.
