Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee site-wide Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and hazardous energy isolation programs
- Serve as the primary Energy Marshal during commissioning, startup, turnover, and energization activities
- Review, authorize, and manage Permit-to-Work (PTW) and Energized Electrical Work Permits (EEWP)
- Enforce NFPA 70E electrical safety requirements and arc-flash protection controls
- Cookordination electrical and mechanical isolation boundaries with contractors and subcontractors
- Support commissioning and startup teams during critical-system readiness and live-system work
- Conduct field audits, inspections, and verification of LOTO procedures and energy isolation points
- Lead high-risk work planning activities involving energized systems, confined space, and critical infrastructure
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, EM 385-1-1, and project-specific safety standards
- Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation
- Deliver training related to LOTO, PTW, electrical safety, and hazardous energy control
- Maintain accurate documentation for permits, isolation logs, audits, and safety reporting
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in electrical safety, industrial electrical work, or EHS with an electrical focus
- Demonstrated LOTO SME experience — you have built or audited LOTO programs, not just followed them
- Working knowledge of NFPA 70E (arc flash safety, shock hazard analysis, PPE selection)
- Solid understanding of OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147 (Control of Hazardous Energy)
- Experience developing and delivering safety training to hourly and skilled-trade employees
- Ability to read electrical diagrams, one-line drawings, and equipment documentation
Preferred Certifications
- Journeyman or Master Electrician license (any state)
- NFPA 70E certification or formal NFPA 70E training credential
- OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification
- Experience with arc flash study software (SKM, EasyPower, ETAP) or vendor coordination
- CSP, ASP, CHST, or CESCP credential
- Prior work in facilities, utilities, manufacturing, defense, or construction environments
