Responsibilities
- Prepare takeoff quantity from construction drawings
- Cookordinate the review of draft tender documentation to ensure all systems and components of the tenders are included
- Knowledge in initial review of projects, conditions of contract, contract documents, specifications, and design drawings
- Preparation of tender documentation queries to consultants or clients to confirm and collect any missing data
- Attend technical meetings and weekly progress meetings as required
- Preparation of Cost Estimation for MEP Works (Electrical), including pricing, rate buildup for materials, labor, etc.
- Invite the Quotation from Subcontractor/Supplier, Negotiation and Comparison; ability to prepare pre-contract and tender activity
- Maintain and regularly update the approved Subcontractor/Supplier database
- Develop Bill of Quantities (BOQ) based on tender drawings and specifications, ensuring inclusion of all works
- Correspond with Consultants/Authorities regarding specifications, technical requirements, and BOQ differences to tender requirements, and raise queries for clarification
- Cooordinat with planning, procurement, finance, and administration cell for necessary documents required for the submission
- Perform risk assessments, value management, and cost control measures
- Undertake cost analysis for repair, replacement, and maintenance works
- Prepare cost analysis on quotation to be submitted for bids
- Interpret electrical drawings and specifications to identify all relevant components and ensure accurate inclusion in project planning and costing
- Conduct quantity takeoffs and evaluate cost proposals
- Review and measure executed works against project specifications
- Develop and coordinate detailed shop drawings and coordination drawings
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication
- Physical demands include long hours sitting, using a computer, standing, pulling/pushing, walking, lifting, and climbing
- Job requires intermediate computer proficiency, advanced critical thinking skills, and excellent oral and written communication skills
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Estimating, or other relevant fields preferred
- 2 years of relevant construction industry work experience required
- Electrical Journeyman License preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office required
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or Estimating/Quantity Surveying software preferred
- Ability to recognize contractual obligations of both the company and its subcontractors
