About the Role
Provides quality assurance inspections for electrical manufacturing, progressively ensuring efficiency in quality and customer service/satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of routine to complex inspections for incoming, in-process, and final assemblies to ensure compliance with documentation, process standards, and/or customer requirements.
- Proficient in interpreting configured drawings, bill of materials lists, quality control specifications, contractual requirements, technical data packages, tech manuals, and oral/written instructions.
- Inspects in-process and finished products using calibrated inspection measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, Fluke multi-meter, pin retention tool, tape measure, torque wrenches, and torque screwdrivers.
- Utilizes web-based SharePoint, Deltek CostPoint, Tyonek One, and Cognos for document management and storage.
- Uses web-based Smartsheet for project scheduling and work management planning.
- Generates Nonconformance Reports, Corrective Actions (Root Cause Analysis, Human Factor, Dirty Dozen), and continual improvement initiatives.
- Inspects printed circuit boards to J-STD-001 and cable/wiring harnesses to IPC-WHMA-A 620 or as required by customer requirements.
- Prepares reports and maintains records.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of experience in Electrical Quality Assurance inspection.
- Knowledgeable experience in prototyping and agile manufacturing industry, including working in an ISO 9001/AS9100 quality system environment.
- Familiarity with IPC J-STD-001 (Requirements for Soldered Electrical and Electronic Assemblies) and WHMA-A-620 (Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies) Standards.
- Experience with ANSI/ESD S20.20 (Standard for Development of an ESD Control Program) in an ESD-controlled environment and work environment safety requirements.
- Must have been or currently be accredited in IPC J-STD-001 and WHMA-A-620.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk and stand on level and/or inclined surfaces for extended periods throughout the day.
- Ability to climb stairs, ramps, ladders, and work stands, working at heights with fall protection devices.
- Ability to crouch, crawl, grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow/knee, and reach above/below shoulders.
- May be required to lift up to 25 pounds and carry for short distances.
- Must be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.
