Duties and Responsibilities

  • Cover compliance of federal, state, and local codes and regulations.
  • Interface with clients to ensure electrical construction work is completed in multiple buildings.
  • Mitigate roadblocks to construction progress through design review.
  • Inspect all electrical system installations, including high, medium, and low voltage, LSS, I&C, power distribution, etc.
  • Upload all inspection reports to the project EIDA electronic documentation system.
  • Verify the qualifications of subcontractors' inspectors according to project specifications.
  • Participate in turnover package documentation.
  • Represent MSR-FSR in project meetings and attend strategy meetings.
  • Formulate reports on work progress, costs, scheduling, inspections, and system tests.
  • Complete all QA documentation as needed for the project.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years verifiable electrical experience within a construction field.
  • Journeyman Electrician or Master Electrician required.
  • Knowledge of relevant codes and standards (IEEE, NEMA, NFPA, NETA).
  • Computer skills required: MS Office, Bluebeam, PowerPoint.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hand and finger dexterity, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, or crawl.
  • Continually required to talk or hear.
  • Occasionally required to taste or smell, work near moving mechanical parts, work in high, precarious places, work around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals.
  • Must wear personal protective equipment, including protective eye wear, hard hat, lab coat, gloves, steel-toed shoes, and hearing protection.
  • Must be able to safely access and traverse indoor and outdoor obstacles for site inspections, including climbing ladders, walking on stairs, catwalks, and other types of uneven surfaces.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 20 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee must be able to safely access and traverse indoor and outdoor obstacles for site inspections, including climbing ladders, walking on stairs, catwalks, and other types of uneven surfaces where activity inspections are needed.
